Summer Activities
Horseback riding, hiking, fishing, camping, photography, reading and relaxing are just a few of the Summer time activities we have available. The comfort of the Lodge, as well as the comfortable daytime temperatures that average around the mid 70’s in July and August, make Paintrock Lodge a wonderful summer time vacation choice.
Horseback Riding
What better way to see the beauty of the Big Horn Mountains than on the back of a gentle well trained trail horse. We organize rides daily for groups as well as individuals.
Fishing
From the middle of June to the end of September the lakes and streams of the Big Horn National Forest and Cloud Peak Wilderness Reserve provide you with opportunities to tangle with cutthroat, rainbow, brown, brook and golden trout. You have the option of fishing from a canoe tpcasting a fly to a hungry rainbow on one of the many streams draining out of the Big Horn Mountains.
Wildlife Viewing
Elk, moose, deer, antelope, coyotes, pikas, bald and golden eagles, sage grouse, and many many more make the Big Horn Mountains home.
